I purchased the car 15 years ago. Long Island Vettes suggested a Doug Hart (and the name may be off), a Bloomington gold judge on Long Island, who helped me look for a good car and he found 2 in New Jersey. A ‘61 and a ‘62. I purchased this one. At the time it was totally redone, engine, body etc.
Engine 283cc rebored to 290hp.
Body no dinks, scratches etc.
New seats, wonder bar radio, all electric works, Coker tires, slightly faded carpets, new battery, new brakes, is running perfectly, serviced over the years by Mad Creations and Rich Puleo (also recommended by Rich F from LIV) and most recently fully serviced this past June, 2017.
The car is matching numbers and has 3000 miles since rebuilt. Over the years I have rebuilt the brakes, carbs 2 4barrels, and it has been garaged on Long Island. I have all the service records, and in a LIV meet it came in 1st in lightly driven category.
Flaws...when rebuilt, the door locks were placed inverted, easily changed.
Gullwing motors made an offer sight unseen but feel it is worth more as told to me by Rich Puleo and also by Early Vettes (Mike) in Pennsylvania.
The car is at my home in Water Mill on the island.
I would appreciate any help as I need to sell my childhood dream due to ill health as a result of 9/11 where I volunteered as a doctor the day of at Stuyvesant HS and later helped identify remains at the medical examiners office. If you need more info let me know...my cell is 917-517-8091.
Thank you...Marty Sher
